Traditional Baby handprint crafts.

Don’t you want to keep the memories of those special moments you had when your baby was still tiny, Baby handprint craft ideas will allow you to do just that.

You could make a keepsake blossom from a photo of your baby and two handprints it could be given as a gift to that special Grandma and Grandpa, or make a handprint of your baby using Plaster of Paris poured into a small shallow dish, then painted and decorated.

As with all crafts the possibilities are only limited by your Imagination.

As a mother to 8 children Aged between 9 to 20 I would consider myself a veteran of baby handprint crafts. I have over the years received many handprint craft gifts from my Children, And spent lots and lots of rainy days with the kids locked inside keeping them occupied with one craft activity or another.
I must say, that out of all the crafts we have done during those years, handprint crafts were one of the all time favorites.

If your interests lie more in the Traditional Baby handprint crafts
Then check out this site it has more than 40 different Handprint craft Projects on display for you to enjoy.

In following posts I will tell you more on how to make Baby Handprint Crafts High Tech. bringing this age-old craft up to date with modern technology and methods.

Baby handprint crafts Poem

I miss you when we're not together
I'm growing up so fast
See how big I've gotten
Since you saw me last?
As I grow, I'll change a lot,
The years will fly right by.
You'll wonder how I grew so quick
When and where and why?
So look upon this handprint
That's hanging on your wall.
And memories will come back of me,
When I was very small.

I'm not sure who the original Author of this poem is
But! It is such a beautiful poem I just Had to publish it here.
I came across it in my treasure box, you know the one's mums
keep filled with all those things your kids make at school.

The Poem Came from a mothers day gift that my Youngest
Girl Gave me 6 Years ago. The gift was a paper plate with her
hand print in paint on it, and the poem was written in pencil to one side of it.
The edges were finished with an assortment of colored shapes and patterns.

Baby handprint crafts keep pace with the available technology

Baby handprint crafts have been around for a long time and with each passing generation the methods and techniques used in this craft keep pace with the available technology.

Let’s look at the 1800’s
To begin with this era was technologically backward by today’s standards. The Steam age was still in its infancy and the methods and technologies used in baby handprint crafts were rudimentary at best.

Now The 1900’s
In the last 55 years of this century the growth of technology flew forward at super sonic speed pushed by Science, Electricity and Computers.
Push button crafting was now available to the Masses.
Crafts that used to take months to complete now take weeks and those that took weeks now take But a Day or two to complete.

Today
Baby handprint crafts are easier, safer and take less time to complete than ever before. The range of dyes, Inks, colors, Fabrics, papers and just about any thing else you can think of is staggering.
Never before has the crafter had such unlimited access.
